Koja Kitchen

"What is a KoJa?
KoJa (aka Korean-Japanese) is a special gourmet sandwich infused with a unique combination of Korean & Japanese flavors. To step it up a notch, KoJa Kitchen substitutes the traditional wheat buns with freshly made crispy garlic rice buns.

From Food Truck to Restaurant
We began serving up our creative fusion flavors all over the San Francisco Bay Area on a Food Truck since 2011. The Truck is featured on the two Food Network Shows: Diners, Drive-ins & Dives and Eat Street. With our fans’ strong support, we opened our first restaurant in 2014, further allowing us to offer new KoJa sandwiches, specialty fries, and desserts." -

Above is a brief overview of the food finds I encountered in Fresno, Ca.  The text above was copied straight from the website.

I am a sucker for Asian food especially if they are spicy, so when this restaurant opened up in Fresno I knew I had to give it a shot.  I have eaten there two times since it has opened in January of 2017.  The first time I tried their famous Koja Burger with the fried rice patties and the second time I had their Ahi Tuna Salad.  The price for these food are really reasonable.  The down side is that there is no combination plates.  You either order a burger or a salad or appetizers separately versus buying a burger that already comes with fries/chips/drinks.

Top: Braised Pork Koja Burger
Bottom:  Kamikaze Fries

I absolutely loved the food here!  The Koja burger I had reminded me of a sandwich version of the Korean dish Bip Bam Bap.  Of course the salad was phenomenal!  What blew my mind was the Kamikaze fries I had,  It had meat on top of it with some sweet and spicy sauce along with other condiments.  It is a must!!

The wait time for the food to be ready was really fast which was a huge plus!    .

This concludes my trip to the Koja Kitchen.

H&M Haul

When it comes to shopping for clothes, I spend the majority of my time browsing online at Asian clothing influenced websites.  The one I shop the most at is  Yesstyle.com  since it carries a variety of clothing I see from my Korean Dramas.  During a local Farmer's Market, I sneaked into H&M to cool down from the heat outdoors and that was when I saw the clothing pieces I have been obsessing over: Ruffles!  I purchased 6 tops circulating the idea of ruffles. Piece 1: This first top is a plain white ruffle collar with coordinating ruffle sleeves.  It is simple and can be layered with trench coats or vests.  You can even add a sweater over the top during colder seasons.  P.s.  I accidentally deleted the photo of me modeling the shirt.  Piece 2: This top is a transparent and breezy.  I am in love with the detailing of the ruffles on the sleeves.  It is shorter and cuts in a V-shape. ...

Bleaching Eyebrows

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to ghaneethebugblog.blogspot.com!  A little over a week ago, I colored my hair red/orange/brown as an inpsiration from Hyuna's new song she's featured in called 365 So Fresh by Triple H.  The problem with coloring my hair so much is matching my eyebrows to the new hair color.  I went into Sephora and consulted with one of the makeup artist on how to get eyebrows like Hyuna.  It's soft and light and is an iconic eyebrow style K-Pop artists' have.   Hyuna Traditional Korean eyebrows (Picture taken from a Google search) The makeup artist suggested for me to by an eyebrow bleach kit to lighten the hairs on my eyebrows.  That would be the only way to achieve the light eyebrows.  I already had bleach and developer at home, so I mixed a equal amount of portions together.  You do not need a lot.  I had only mixed a little and had enough for four or five pairs of eyebrows. 10 Volume developer w...

Fresno Hmong International New Year and more!

I wish I had taken more photos of the booths in the Fresno Hmong International New Year to share with you guys!  This is my outfit I bought this year for the Hmong New Year.  It is a variation of the Chinese style Hmong outfits.  The Chinese style is typically designed with strings of beads versus silver money.  Their hats usually matches with the color of the outfit, however when I bought mine it did not come with the hat nor the matching skirt.  The vendor I bought it from assured me that it would be fine with the stunning silver hat and white skirt, and she was not wrong!   Here is the second outfit I wore this year.  My cousin and I are sporting two similar yet very different Thai outfit.  Hers have a more braided clothe covering her shoulder with a set of gold beads.  Mine is simply laced beaded with small gold beads.  I had worn the outfit in a previous year with my hair down.  This year I changed it up and decided to ...
